Hossein Rezazadeh

Nicknamed “The Iranian Hercules”, he currently holds the world records in weightlifting’s super heavyweight class in the snatch, clean and jerk and total. He is the first Iranian athlete to have won two Olympic gold medals.

Front Squat: 320.0 kg

Back Squat: 400.0 kg

Weightlifting Information:

The weightlifting competition at the 1952 Summer Olympics in Helsinki consisted of seven weight classes all for men only. The middle-heavyweight division was a newly created weight class moving the heavyweight class up from 82.5 kg to 90 kg. The events were held at Messuhalli.
